OUR APPROACH

ASK young women about their experiences.

ENCOURAGE them that they have value.

INSPIRE them to create the future they want to inherit.

OUR MISSION

In order to encourage a lifetime of civic involvement in Alabama, our videos engage with local, female BIPOC high school students, offering authentic voices of their peers, stimulating them to imagine how they would instigate lasting positive change in their hometowns.

OUR WHY

Alabama ranks 45th out of the 50 states in women’s representation in its state legislature. With a female population of 51.6%, only 20% of Alabama’s statewide elected officials are women.

Black women remain severely under represented as Alabama office holders at the statewide executive level, holding just 1.9% of these positions. In order to create a more well-represented government, our work starts now.

We seek to empower young women to feel prepared to put their name forward when candidates are sought. By creating educational videos geared toward high school women in Alabama, we can do our part to encourage women, especially Black women, to pursue a career where they belong— in the house...and the senate.
